The New Bulls Scholars program is a transformative initiative designed to champion first-generation college student success through scholarship and holistic support. The program's mission is to nurture students' development as independent learners and impactful leaders while fostering a supportive environment at USF.

By promoting a growth mindset, New Bulls Scholars equips students with the tools needed for personal, academic, and career achievements. The program emphasizes early engagement with undergraduate research and high-impact practices (HIPs), serving as the foundation for long-term student success.

  • Seamless Transition: Students begin their journey with a comprehensive summer residency, offering a head start in academics and college life.
  • Dedicated Support: Participants receive tailored academic advising, peer mentorship, and opportunities to develop critical thinking and research skills.
  • Networking and Engagement: The program facilitates connections with community members, alumni, and professional networks to enhance career readiness. 

Through its intentional design, New Bulls Scholars ensures that first-generation students are not only prepared to excel academically but are also empowered to thrive as active, engaged members of the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏcommunity.

Program Requirements

  • Bold Decision to Thrive at USF: Show your commitment to excelling at USF.
  • Proven Potential: Demonstrate your ability to grow academically and socially.
  • FAFSA Completion: Submit the 2024-2025 FAFSA.
  • Summer Residency: Commit to residing on campus for the Summer B 2025 semester.
  • Credit Enrollment: Enroll in and complete 9 credits during the Summer B 2025 semester.
  • Academic Standing: Maintain good academic standing. 

Selection Process

Space is limited for New Bulls Scholars, and being selected means ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏbelieves in your potential! Participants receive full academic support, financial aid supplements, and access to high-impact programs that ensure their success.

The ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏOffice of Admissions will refer selected students to the Office of Undergraduate Studies (UGS).

Program Agreement

The Office of Undergraduate Studies will contact admitted students with information about the New Bulls Scholars program. Accepted students will receive a program participation and agreement form to confirm their slot.
