Rapid Experimentation Lab
The Rapid Experimentation Lab (REL) at the Institute of Applied Engineering (IAE) provides the necessary infrastructure, tools and collaborative environment to enable the curious and inspired to design, build and test technologies for today and tomorrow. More than just a makerspace, the REL is a playground for mechanical, electronics, sensors, communications, and software teams to quickly iterate on designs to solve problems, invent new products and rapidly deliver cutting-edge capabilities.
The REL presents an extensive range of capabilities tailored for prototyping and innovation. From precise CNC milling and large-format routing to laser PCB structuring and desktop milling, it facilitates swift and precise electronic prototyping. Moreover, it offers versatile laser cutting and engraving services for various materials such as metal, wood, and plastic. Complemented by fused deposition modeling, stereolithography, and production-grade FDM and polyjet printing for rapid plastic prototyping. Alongside cutting-edge workstations, these advanced technologies enhance a diverse range of projects, fostering efficient and top-tier experimentation in engineering and design endeavors.
