An internship with the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏHumanities Institute provides opportunities to develop personal and professional skills by working alongside a dynamic team committed to promoting humanities research and scholarly events for ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏand the community. Internships are tailored to each student’s ambitions.

Throughout the semester, interns have opportunities to gain experience in areas including:

  • Event planning
  • Graphic design
  • Social media & website content management
  • Marketing & branding
  • Finances & budgeting
  • Humanities research
  • Community relations
  • Higher education administration
  • Photography & videography

In addition to on-the-job training, interns also have the opportunity to practice transferable "soft" skills such as:

  • Time management
  • Writing & communication
  • Organization
  • Dependability
  • Critical thinking
  • Teamwork & collaboration
  • Decision making
  • Interpersonal relationships

Our goal is to set-up interns for success after college. The Humanities Institute staff will work with students in personal growth areas of interest that could include:

If your department offers for-credit internships as part of their degree program, the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏHumanities Institute hosts interns on-campus in fall and spring semesters. Students interested in learning more about an internship opportunity with HI can contact Jade von Werder.

Interning at the Humanities Institute helped me realize how much I enjoy planning events, especially events that reflect our passion for the humanities. Through this internship, I applied and developed my professional skills in an environment that aligned with my values. I’ve gained a clearer direction for my profession after graduation thanks to the leadership and work offered by the Humanities Institute!
