Prior to his death, USF’s Center for Digital Heritage and Geospatial Information partnered with President Jimmy Carter and the National Park Service to create virtual tours of his boyhood farm, high school he attended and railroad depot that served as campaign headquarters for Carter’s successful 1976 presidential bid. Check out the interactive tours available to the public.

Gandy Bridge turns 100, how ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏis preserving its history

A bountiful repository of local African American artifacts spanning more than 150 years provides a glimpse into the community’s lives, struggles and achievements in Tampa Bay. Rare books, personal papers, photographs and even property records are available in the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏTampa campus library, the Nelson Poynter Library at ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSt. Petersburg and online.

Kristina Keogh has been named the new dean of the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSt. Petersburg campus. Keogh comes to ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏafter being the director of library services for the past six years at the Alfred R. Goldstein Library at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL.

As a child, Florence Jandreau remembers peeking through the woods and trees to see the new university in town. At the time, she could have never imagined the impact ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏwould have on her life or that she would one day retire as the university’s longest-serving non-faculty staff member.
