ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏgraduates celebrate unwavering support, resiliency during fall commencement
Nearly 4,000 degrees were conferred during this fall’s commencement. The group, which represented 93 countries, 42 states and 11 U.S. territories, included 47 undergraduate students earning a perfect 4.0 grade point average and 107 military veterans. All now share a common theme – they are ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏalumni.

U.S. Marine Sgt. Amed Issa was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his heroism. The ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏexercise science major put himself in the line of fire to save lives when gunshots erupted inside a packed restaurant.

Two separate projects led by faculty in the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏCollege of Education and College of Behavioral and Community Sciences are being funded by a combined $8 million from the U.S. Department of Education to address mental health in Tampa Bay K-12 students.
