Dr. Sten Vermund is the current president of the Global Virus Network, which recentlyÌýmoved its international headquarters to USF. He joins ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏafter serving as dean of the Yale School of Public Health and as professor in pediatrics and clinical professor in obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the Yale School of Medicine.

FDA approves new Parkinson’s treatment following clinical trial led by ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏHealth researcher
The new medication lasts longer and requires fewer doses for treating Parkinson’s disease, potentially offering patients significant relief from the disease’s debilitating symptoms. The FDA’s approval is based in part on findings of a study led by Dr. Robert A. Hauser, professor in the Department of Neurology and director of theÌýºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏHealth Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders CenterÌýat the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏHealth Morsani College of Medicine.

Estuaries in South Florida are warming faster than the Gulf of Mexico and global ocean
Using satellite data, researchers in the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏCollege of Marine Science found that sea surface temperatures in four estuaries in South Florida have risen faster than sea surface temperatures globally and in the Gulf of Mexico.

The ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSt. Petersburg campus will reopen and resume normal business operations on Tuesday, August 6. The ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏTampa campus (including ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏHealth downtown) and ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSarasota-Manatee campuses will continue with normal business operations on Tuesday, August 6.
