The solar-powered NEWgenerator provides off-grid sanitation technology and generates nutrients, energy and water by safely recovering them from human wastewater. It’s the first unit to be manufactured since the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏTechnology Transfer Office signed a licensing agreement in 2020.

Residence halls at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ are expected to be at full capacity for the fall semester. Approximately 7,400 students are expected to live on campus - nearly 6,500 in Tampa and more than 900 in St. Petersburg.

The Rapid Experimentation Lab, managed by the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏInstitute of Applied Engineering, puts engineers with different areas of expertise in the same room, dramatically reducing the amount of time it typically takes to build a prototype. It’s part of a five-year, $85 million contract with U.S. Special Operations Command, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base.
