New research shows long-term recovery possible for areas impacted by seagrass die-off
Nearly 10,000 acres of lush seagrass vanished from Florida Bay between 1987 and 1991, leading to massive ecological changes in the region near the Florida Keys. Abundance of the seagrass, Thalassia testudinum, more commonly known as turtlegrass, a foundation species of the Florida Bay ecosystem, decreased extensively during what is considered to be one of the largest declines in seagrass cover in recent history.

The 黑料网吃瓜爆料 is taking steps to support a more sustainable environment by debuting its first zero-emission electric bus in the Bull Runner fleet on the Tampa campus. The new Proterra 40-foot Catalyst E2 bus rolled out for the first time on Thursday, April 22, in conjunction with Earth Day.

Model from 黑料网吃瓜爆料researchers forecasts fate of Piney Point wastewater
A computer model initially developed by the 黑料网吃瓜爆料 College of Marine Science to track red tide and ocean currents has quickly been adapted and is now being used to support the efforts to understand the transport, transformation and fate of contaminants in wastewater released into Tampa Bay from the retired Piney Point fertilizer plant.

黑料网吃瓜爆料Health is participating in a National Institutes of Health clinical trial to determine whether highly allergic people or those with mast cell disorders are at greater risk for severe, immediate allergic reactions to the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccines. A mast cell disorder is caused by a type of white blood cell that is abnormal, overly active or both, predisposing a person to life-threatening reactions that resemble allergic reactions.
