ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏmedical students create new ways to reach patients
When COVID-19 restrictions kept ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏmedical students from all direct contact with patients, many refused to stay away completely. Instead, they used online tools to build new services and resources to reaffirm their commitment to the field. From making calls to check on patients, to creating multilingual resource guides for underserved communities, to creating online cooking clubs or even assisting health care workers with their own personal duties, students found ways to do what they most love – to help others.

They’ve witnessed activists spark effective change, demonstrations lead to destruction and communities become wary of police. They’ve educated tens of thousands of students on significant moments of history and how such history tends to repeat itself. It’s a lesson playing out nationally in response to the death of George Floyd with protests erupting thousands of miles away from where he died in Minneapolis police custody.

International students are not eligible for financial assistance that U.S. students receive from the federal CARES Act.
