Welcome to the 2022 Fall Semester

Dear ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏfaculty and staff,

I am delighted to welcome you to the start of the 2022 fall semester at the University of South Florida!

With classes beginning and campus activities in full swing, I invite you to stay connected with me on and . I’ll be sharing updates and highlights from across our community that showcase why ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏis the best place to learn, work and grow.

This is a particularly exciting time at ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ– a vibrant period of growth with new cutting-edge programs and additional state-of-the-art facilities. Our university’s momentum has helped position us to break several all-time records:

  • Today we welcome our largest-ever class of first-year students.
  • More than 65,000 prospective students applied to ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ— that’s 15,000 more than last year and the most ever at our university.
  • With nearly 7,500 students packing our residence halls, it’s the most students we’ve ever had living on our campuses.

I enjoyed seeing many of you with the great turnout we had for our employee appreciation lunch last week and I look forward to hosting you at our town hall meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The town hall will be an opportunity for our university leadership team to provide updates and hear about some of the issues important to you.

I am deeply appreciative of your hard work and commitment to the success of our students, and I wish you all a great start to the semester. It’s your talent and dedication that will make the next era for ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏour finest yet.

In Bull Pride,

Rhea Law
ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏPresident
