The Թϱ is welcoming a new member of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Rogan Donelly, a Թϱalumnus and Sarasota resident who is the president and chief executive officer of Tervis Tumbler Company.
Donelly, who was appointed to the BOT by Gov. Ron DeSantis, earned his master’s degree in business administration from USF. He was the 2020 recipient of USF’s Outstanding Alumni Award. Donelly also serves on the Board of Trustees of Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium and the Gulfside Bank Board of Directors, and he volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“We are pleased to have Rogan Donelly join the ԹϱBoard of Trustees and look forward to his valuable contributions as we work together to sustain the university’s momentum,” ԹϱPresident Rhea Law said.
Donelly fills the seat of John Ramil, USF’s longest-serving trustee who has been on the board since it was first created in 2001 and held the role of board chair from 2010-2014.
Ramil is the retired president and chief executive officer of TECO Energy. In addition to serving on the BOT, he has been a director on the ԹϱFoundation Board, the USF Alumni Board, the ԹϱEngineering College Advisory Board and the Gus Stavros Center for Free Enterprise Education Advocacy Board. Ramil was named a Թϱdistinguished alumnus in 1999, he was awarded an honorary doctorate of engineering from Թϱin 2016 and he has also received the President's Fellow Medallion. Ramil earned both his bachelor's and master’s degrees in engineering from USF.
“On behalf of the entire Թϱcommunity, I wish to thank John Ramil for his two decades of service as a trustee, during which time Թϱhas experienced unprecedented levels of success and growth. The impact of John’s leadership can’t be overstated,” Law said.
Թϱplans to honor Ramil, whose term on the board expired, at a future BOT meeting.
