SARASOTA, FL 鈥� Put away your winter sweater, at least until next weekend.
Near-freezing temperatures recorded in Sarasota-Manatee early on Martin Luther King Jr. Day will give way to 鈥渟pring-like鈥� temperatures on Wednesday, according to Suncoast News Network meteorologist Marco La Manno.
鈥淚t鈥檚 not going to last,鈥� La Manno said. 鈥淭here is another front on its heels in the next few days. The next front will warm things up a lot, spring-like temperatures, probably Wednesday.鈥�
The shift from nose-nipping weather comes from southeasterly winds over the Atlantic conveying warmer air to South Florida.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures should start heating up on Tuesday and Wednesday, when highs are expected around 75 and lows in the 60s. You can expect mild humidity.
Temperatures will dip on Thursday and Friday with drier air in the 60s and lows hovering around 47.
鈥淒espite the cool down, we have been warmer than last year,鈥� La Manno said. 鈥淟ast year, we were in the 30s for some of our lows. We haven鈥檛 had that big cool down.鈥�
