In collaboration with ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏRecreation and Wellness, we are excited to offer two swim programs designed to build water confidence and safety skills. The Parent and Child Swim program (ages 6 months to 2 years) provides a fun, supportive environment where parents and little ones bond while learning essential water safety techniques. Guided by certified ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSwim instructors, parents help their child develop comfort in the water through interactive activities.
For older children, the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏLearn to Swim program (ages 3-13) teaches fundamental swimming and water safety skills in a structured, supportive setting. Led by Red Cross-certified Water Safety Instructors and supervised by trained lifeguards, this program helps children build confidence and develop lifelong swimming skills.
ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSwim Lessons for All Ages

Useful Information
General Information
Where are the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSwim Programs located?
The ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSwim Programs take place at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏRecreation and Wellness Center, conveniently located on the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏTampa campus next to the Yuengling Center. The facility's address is 12301 ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏGenshaft Dr, Tampa, FL 33620.
Who are the instructors, and what are their qualifications?
Swim Instructors have certifications in the following, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguarding, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer with First Aid.
What safety measures are in place during the lesson?
In addition to having certified instructors, lifeguards are present to supervise all swim classes, ensuring an extra layer of safety and peace of mind.
Where can I park during the lesson?
ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏparking permits are required at all times to park on campus. During registration, you have the option to purchase a 4-day parking pass for $10. Alternatively, you can use the ParkMobile app to pay for daily parking at the Yuengling Center lot.
What happens if my child misses a lesson?
We do not offer make-up classes for missed lessons. Due to the unique progression of each lesson and the need to maintain the proper child-to-instructor ratio, we cannot add your child to another class for a make-up lesson. This ensures that all participants receive adequate time and attention from their instructor. Please keep this in mind when registering for sessions.
Will weather affect my child's swim lessons?
All lessons are held in the indoor Rec Center pool and are only impacted by severe tropical weather, such as tropical storms, hurricanes, or tornado warnings. Unlike pools with outdoor pump rooms, our pump room is located inside the Rec Center, ensuring it is safe and unaffected by typical weather conditions.
