Student Spotlight: Alicia Miller
From the time she began her studies at USF, Mathematics Education major Alicia Miller has taken on opportunities such as working as a resident assistant for the Education Living Learning Community and becoming a part-time tutor through USF’s Tutor-A-Bull program. Now, with graduation just around the corner, she reflects on her teacher preparation program and the experiences that have led her to where she is today.

Responding to those concerns led College of Education professors AnnMarie Gunn and Susan Bennett to team up with the Police Athletic League (PAL) of St. Petersburg, which seeks to inspire hope and transform the lives of at-risk youth.

Associate professor elected as fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science
College of Education Associate Professor Ruthmae Sears, PhD, was elected as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Dr. Sears is the first Black faculty member at ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏto receive this recognition, which is one of the world’s most prestigious honors for academic research.

Craig Nieman, a doctoral student in the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏCollege of Education, was selected as a recipient of the Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship, a national award presented by the Society of Health and Physical Educators.
