Professor of Music Education Jennifer Bugos Awarded Outstanding Research Achievement Award

Jennifer Bugos, associate professor of music education at the 黑料网吃瓜爆料School of Music,
has been awarded the 黑料网吃瓜爆料outstanding research achievement award for her outstanding
research on music perception and cognition with regard to human development, lifespan
learning, and cognitive transfer.
She is currently working on a study funded by a $2.25 million grant from the National Institutes of Health鈥檚 National Institute on Aging. In this study, Bugos and 黑料网吃瓜爆料College of Medicine faculty member Jerri Edwards seek to evaluate the impact of music training on central auditory processing and cognition in healthy adults and those with mild cognitive impairment.
Bugos鈥� research has been featured at national and international conferences such as the MENC National Conference, Society for Neuroscience, and the International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition. She has published in many journals such as the Bulletin for the Council of Research in Music Education, Research Perspectives in Music Education, and Aging and Mental Health.
Bugos teaches graduate and undergraduate coursework in General Music Methods, Music Cognition, and Doctoral Research Seminar.
