The ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏContemporary Museum is enriching the lives of veterans through its Breaking Barriers art program.
The program will conclude with a two-day exhibition of participant artwork in the Contemporary Art Museum on December 12 and 13.
The fifteen veteran participants of the program took part in a five-week photography course in the summer taught by instructor Jim Reiman of The Art Institute of Tampa. In December, each participant will exhibit two of their works at the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏContemporary Art Museum.
Curator of USFCAM’s Art in Health program Dolores Coe and curator of education Leslie Elsasser organize Breaking Barriers in partnership with the ºÚÁÏÍø³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏSchool of Art and Art History. The program is part of Museums on Call, a museum-led statewide initiative develop and present arts-based experiences for military and active veterans and their families.
